Sutton Kersh Auctions held their final auction of their 20th anniversary year.
This year saw the Merseyside based auction house sell 510 Lots worth over £58 million.
‘The last 12 months has been a bit of a roller coaster within the property industry; there have been some incredible months with exceptional sales figures, a vast number of new buyers registering with us and proeprties selling before we could even list them online due to the exceptional demand. The last few months, however, have seen much unrest and uncertainty for many, but results from our last two auctions show there is still a high demand for residential and investment properties. Buying through auction remains more financially appealing to many, particularly in the current moment’, comments Cathy Holt, Associate Director of Sutton Kersh Auctions.
Their December auction saw 33 Lots sold prior to the auction itself, equating to £3.5 million worth of property sales. The auction had a handful of Lots that sold for a considerable amount over their guide price.
Here are a few of the Lots of interest from the day of the auction:
Lot 59 in Bootle was a great house for a lucky buyer, as this 4-bedroom house with huge potential was a blank canvas for someone to make a beautiful family home. It was listed for £100,000 and sold for £117,000.
Lot 63, a 3-bedroom mid-town house on Lovell Road in Speke, Liverpool, needed a full upgrade and refurbishment. It was listed for £50,000 and after a long and intense bidding war sold for £90,000, which is £40,000 over the guide price.
Lot 73 on Sceptre Road in the L11 area of Liverpool, was a 2-bed semi in good condition, that would be suitable for occupation or investment. It sold for £93,000 which was £23,000 over the guide price.
Lot 87 was extremely popular and saw bidders register from across the country for it. This 3-bedroom end-terrace property in need of refurbishment would make a fantastic holiday home due to its location, and after a strong bidding war it sold for £156,000 which was £56,0000 over its guide price.
The last Lot that really stood out was Lot 99 on Lawrence Rd in the popular area of L15. This 3-storey mixed-use property was in a state of disrepair, hence the low guide price of £145,000. However, after a lengthy bidding war it sold for well over the guide at £222,000.
