We have arrested two men from Seaforth and seized Class A drugs, a quantity of cash and mobile phones yesterday (Thursday 14 October).
At around 5pm officers from Merseyside Police spotted a car with two occupants that had stopped on Dewlands Road. The driver got out of the vehicle and was seen to pass an item to a woman on the road before driving away.
Officers then detained the men after a short pursuit.
Two 23-year-old men, from Sefton and Netherton were arrested on suspicion of possession with intention to supply a Class A drug after officers searched the car and found white and brown wraps of powder, three mobile phones and a quantity of cash.
They were taken to a police station in Merseyside for questioning by detectives and remain in custody.
Officers then searched an address in Netherton where another quantity of Class A drugs were recovered along with an encrypted mobile phone.
Community Inspector Chris Taylor said: “Thanks to the swift action of our officers the use and supply of drugs has been thwarted in this area, which could have seriously affected families and destroyed the lives of people in the community.
“Please contact us if you think someone could be supplying drugs near where you live so we can continue to take similar action and stop the spread of illegal drugs that could endanger people you know and care for.”
