Two men arrested following assault in St Helens

Statement on unexplained death of woman in Fazakerley

Detectives investigating an assault in St Helens earlier this month have arrested two men.

Shortly after 8.15pm on Monday, 14 September, officers were called to Crab Street by the ambulance service to reports of two men in their 30s being assaulted.

Both victims were located with serious injuries to their legs and body, caused by unknown weapons. They have both since been released from hospital.

Following enquiries, a 33-year-old man from St Helens and a 32-year-old man from Warrington were arrested yesterday, Wednesday 23 September.
The 33-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of Section 18 wounding and False imprisonment.
The 32-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of Section 18 wounding, False imprisonment and possession of a firearm.

They remain in custody for questioning.
