Man charged with four offences following incident in Widnes

Two men have today (Monday 20 September) been arrested as part of a police investigation into the organised supply of illegal drugs in the Macclesfield area.

The pair, aged 28 and 38, were both arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to supply Class A drugs following a warrant at an address on Buxton Road, Bosley.

They are currently being held in police custody assisting officers with their enquiries.

During the raid officers recovered a quantity of class A and B drugs.

Following the warrant Sergeant Paul Brunton, of Congleton Beat Team, said: “Todays warrant is the culmination of a lengthy investigation into the supply of illegal drugs in the Macclesfield area and I hope it provides reassurance to local residents.

“Drugs have a hugely detrimental impact on our communities, causing widespread misery. As such, cutting off supplies of illegal drugs and removing dealers from our streets is of paramount importance.

“As part of our efforts to bring those responsible to justice, we also need support from the local community.

“I would appeal to anyone who has any information about illegal drug activity or any other criminal activity taking place in their communities to contact us on 101, or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
