Two-year Criminal Behaviour Order given to Sefton man.

A Sefton man has been issued with a two-year Criminal Behaviour Order which prevents him from entering a shopping centre and a number of retail shops in Merseyside.

The order prevents 32-year-old Sean Clamp, from Bootle, from entering the New Strand Shopping Centre in Bootle and the surrounding area.

He is also banned from entering the following retail shops; Boots, Co-Op Food Stores, Marks and Spencer, Tesco Express, Iceland Stores, or any One Stop Shop, anywhere in Merseyside.

The order was issued to him at Wirral Magistrates Court on Tuesday 18th January.

Raymond Mavrakakis, Community Policing Inspector in South Sefton, said: “Business thefts are not victimless crimes as they have a huge impact on the community in many ways.

“We hope this Criminal Behaviour Orders will deter other businesses from being targeted and serve as a warning to other shoplifters.

“The Order is an extremely effective tool, and our successful application for the CBO against Clamp in this case shows our commitment to robustly deal with repeat offenders who have a negative impact on the community.

“Should Clamp breach the conditions of this order, he will be arrested, returned to court and may be jailed.”
