Witness appeal following serious RTC in Caldy, Wirral

We can confirm that detectives are investigating the unexplained death of a woman in Liverpool city centre last night, Tuesday 1st June.

Emergency services were called to Irwell Chambers on Union Street around 10.40pm to reports an 18 year-old woman had fallen from the building.

The woman sadly died at the scene. Her next of kin are in the process of being informed and enquiries into the incident are ongoing.

A 21-year-old man – who is known to the victim – has been arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with the incident but detectives are keeping an open mind.

Detective Inspector Craig Turner said: “We are in the very early stages of an investigation, and would appeal to anyone who has any information at all to come forward.

“Door-to-door and CCTV enquiries are ongoing and I would appeal to anyone with any information to please come forward. If you saw or heard any suspicious behaviour in Irwell Chambers or Union Street last night please get in touch.”
