Unlock the ‘Key To Health’ with LiveWire and have chance to win a free six month leisure membership

Cllr Tony Higgins and LiveWire’s Kevin Forester launch the ‘Key to Health’ campaign at the Golden Gates.

LiveWire wants to help people unlock their potential to feel healthier this summer – and is launching a competition giving away two 6-month free memberships to celebrate.

On 17 May LiveWire, the community interest company that manages leisure and library services on behalf of Warrington Borough Council, was able to take the next stage on the roadmap out of lockdown – restarting socially distanced indoor group exercise classes.

This followed the covid-secure reopening of gyms and swimming pools in April – meaning LiveWire customers can now once again enjoy gym sessions, swimming and group exercise classes, as well as racket sports like tennis and squash.

To celebrate the latest step out of lockdown, LiveWire is launching a competition to give away a free six month leisure membership.

Special branded keys and posters will be situated at LiveWire sites and other popular locations in Warrington – to enter the competition simply snap a selfie in front of a poster, or with a key, and share it on LiveWire’s social media accounts using the hashtag #KEYTOHEALTH.

Everyone who does this will be entered into a draw to win one a free six month membership.

The keys will be at various LiveWire leisure sites and libraries for two weeks from Friday 28 May, as well as posters at the following locations:

  • The temporary ‘pop up’ Museum & Library unit in Golden Square Shopping Centre
  • Warrington Market
  • Birchwood Shopping Centre

So find the key to unlocking your potential and share a selfie to be in with a chance of winning.

Kevin Forester, commercial director for LiveWire said: “The past 12 months while having been extremely challenging, we know many people have been inspired to try to become healthier – and we want to help. If you spot one of our #KeyToHealth poster selfie spots or keys then snap a pic and share with us on social media. We want to help get Warrington moving and you could help inspire others to take the first steps to becoming fitter. And who knows, your selfie could help you win a free pass for our leisure sites if you’re lucky!”

Cllr Tony Higgins, cabinet member for leisure and community said: “It’s absolutely fantastic news that people are once again able to enjoy swimming, gym sessions and exercise classes at our leisure centres. Physical activity has a vital role to play in our health and wellbeing, so, as we continue our journey out of lockdown, our leisure centres are more important than ever.

“The Key to Health initiative is a great way to celebrate the return of many of our leisure services, as well as encouraging people to visit their local leisure centre and start – or re-start – their journey to fitness. Make sure you keep your eyes peeled for one of our special keys when you’re out and about. If you find one, you could soon be enjoying all the fantastic facilities on offer at our leisure centres – for free!”
