Viadux bar given permission to reopen after key improvements made following Covid breaches

The bar will be allowed to reopen from 3pm today (Saturday, 15 August) after working with Council officers to ensure Covid 19 safety measures are in place at the venue.

Viadux was ordered to close (Thurs, 13 August) using new powers to stop the spread of coronavirus that means venues can be shut down if they fail to adhere to Covid-19 regulations, including social distancing.

The bar will reopen with strict new measures and the venue faces closure again if the rules are not followed.

These include:

  • No customers shall be admitted to the indoor area of the premises unless using toilet facilities.
  • The maximum capacity of the outdoor area shall be restricted to 126 customers.
  • All customers must be seated unless accessing seating areas or using toilet facilities. Vertical drinking must be prevented.
  • No DJs are allowed on the premises and there will be no events held at the venue.
