A 54-year-old woman from Liverpool was arrested on possession with intent to supply a Class B drug and possession of a Class B drug.

She has been taken into custody for questioning by police.

Targeted Policing Chief Inspector Paul Sutcliffe said: “The arrest and significant cash seizure today is a great example of work by our officers to remove ill-gotten cash from our streets.

“Thankfully, a significant quantity of harmful drugs has now also been prevented from reaching our communities.

“No criminal should profit from misery while our wider law abiding communities work hard to earn an honest living. If you know someone involved in crime, please let us know so we can take them off our streets.

“Information from the public plays a vital part in targeting individuals involved in the supply of drugs and serious and organised crime, and I would like to continue to urge our communities to come forward to us, or to Crimestoppers completely anonymously, so that we can take action.”

Anyone with information about drug supply is asked to contact @MerPolCC, 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously on 0800 555 111. Always call 999 if a crime is in progress.
