Woman killed in road traffic collision in Everton is formally identified as Nicole Cummings

Appeal after car driven at pedestrians in Bootle

A female pedestrian who was killed in a road traffic collision in Everton yesterday has been formally identified as Nicole Cummings.

The 24-year-old woman died following a collision with a lorry on Wilbraham Street, near its junction with Scotland Road, at around 8.30am on Thursday 10 August.

Paramedics attended, but Nicole was sadly pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.

A 51-year-old man from Lancashire stopped at the scene and was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He has been released under investigation.

We are still appealing for any information as the investigation continues.

Detective Sergeant Kurt Timpson from the MATRIX Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: “Nicole’s family continue to be supported by specially trained officers and our thoughts remain with them at this tragic time.

“Although we have made an arrest, I would again appeal directly to anyone who witnessed this incident or who has any information that may help to please contact us.  In addition if you live locally or were in the area at the time and have any CCTV or dashcam footage, please get in touch.”
