Youth Buzz Awards 2023 nominations open

Youth Buzz Awards 2023 nominations open

Nominations now open for annual awards celebrating Manchester’s talented young people and their achievements.

The Youth Buzz Awards are organised by Manchester Youth Council on behalf of the City Council and give the city an opportunity to spotlight and celebrate Manchester’s extraordinary young people.

The awards are for young Mancunians aged from 11-19 from all over the city who really help make a difference to their communities.

The Youth Buzz Awards give the city and the Council a chance to formally recognise and reward young people for the fantastic things they do – not just for themselves but also for others.

Nominations can be made in twelve different categories including Young Mentor, Young Carer , Young Achiever, Making a Difference, Youth Project of The Year, Community Champion, Best Social Action group , Young Volunteer, Most Effective Youth Voice or Campaign, Young Leader, Youth / Play Worker or organisation of the Year and, finally,  Outstanding Achievement by a Young Person Award.

The Awards Ceremony will be held on 2 March 2023 at the Radisson Edwardian Hotel and will be the first Youth Buzz Awards since the pandemic.

Anyone can nominate a young person who they think deserves an award for their outstanding contribution to the city.

For more information and to make a nomination, please visit www.manchester.gov.uk/buzz  and fill in the online form by 11.59pm on Sunday 15th January.

Councillor Garry Bridges, Executive Member for Children and Young People said:

“The Youth Buzz Awards are a unique chance to celebrate children and young people in Manchester who are dedicated to helping others and bettering their communities. Over the years we have seen and celebrated some truly amazing young people at the awards and this year, we hope to celebrate many more.

“ We want to ensure everyone has chance to nominate the outstanding young people who work hard to make a difference and better the lives of other young people in the city.

“I’d encourage everyone who has someone in mind to get online before the 15 January and make a nomination!”
