Police are appealing for information from the public following a robbery at a convenience store in Widnes.

Police are appealing for information from the public following a robbery at a convenience store in Widnes.

At around 9.15pm on Tuesday 2 November two unknown men entered the Spar convenience store on Halton View Road.

The pair, who were both had their faces covered and were wearing dark clothing, verbally threatened the cashier and demanded that they handed over all the money from the till.

After taking the cash they fled the store on foot, initially turning right onto Norlands Street, before turning left into Houghton Street.

Officers attended the scene and conducted a search of the local area but were unable to locate the suspects.

Enquiries in relation to the incident are ongoing and officers are keen to hear from anyone with any information which may aid their investigation.

Detective Inspector Alison White said: “While the victim in this case was not physically attacked during the robbery, they have been left shaken and we are committed to doing all we can to identify those involved.

“As part of our investigation we are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the robbery, or saw the two offenders fleeing the scene.

“We are also keen to hear from anyone with any dashcam or CCTV footage of the pair, either in the lead up and after the robbery, which may aid our investigation.“
