Appeal for information following robbery in Toxteth

Detectives are appealing for witnesses following a report of a robbery in Toxteth on Wednesday 22nd March.

At around 9.30pm it was reported that two males approached a man who was carrying a synthesizer inside a case at the junction of Pickwick Street and Dickens Street, and indicated they had a weapon.

The offenders demanded the victim hand over the case and walked off along Dickens Street towards Northumberland Street.

No injuries were reported but the victim was very shaken by the incident.

CCTV and witness enquiries are ongoing and are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

Detective Inspector Katie Coote said: “This was a very distressing incident for the victim to experience.

“I urge anyone who was in the vicinity at that time and may have noticed something suspicious to please contact us so we can bring the offenders to justice.

“The stolen synthesizer was a ‘Prophet-5’ which is of sentimental value as it had originally belonged to the victim’s grandfather. I would urge anyone who may see the synthesizer for sale to please contact us.”
