We are appealing for information following a suspected arson at a building in Walton yesterday afternoon, Wednesday 12 May.
At around 5.10pm, we received a report that a house on Lind Street, had been set on fire.
Neighbouring properties were evacuated and Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service (MFRS) extinguished the fire.
No injuries were reported. Following a joint investigation with MFRS, it is believed the fire was started deliberately and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances. Detective Inspector Paul Jones said: “At this stage we believe this fire was started deliberately, although thankfully nobody in the vicinity was hurt. We’re keen to hear from anyone who has seen anything suspicious in the Lind Street area, or saw the incident itself. “Your footage, descriptions or other information could be vital in finding those responsible, so please come forward and we’ll do the rest.” Anyone with information is asked to contact @MerPolCC on Twitter, ‘Merseyside Police Contact Centre’ on Facebook, call 101 or the independent charity @CrimestoppersUK anonymously, on 0800 555 111, with reference 21000305274.
