Appeal for witnesses following RTC in Woolton

Appeal after man threatened at New Ferry flat

We are appealing for witnesses following an RTC in Woolton in the early hours of this morning, Thursday 10 June.

At around 1.15am, officers on patrol were alerted to a grey BMW 525 being driven erratically on Woolton Hill Road. Shortly afterwards, the car crashed into a wall at the junction of Bower Road.

Two males are believed to have made off from the vehicle, and three teenage males were treated at the scene for minor injuries by ambulance staff.

Roads Policing Inspector Carl McNulty said: “At this stage, we suspect that the vehicle involved in this collision may be stolen.

“We’d like to hear from anyone who was near to the Bower Road / Woolton Hill Road junction this morning, or from any businesses on Woolton Hill Road which may have vital CCTV footage. If you know anything about the BMW’s direction of travel prior to the incident please let us know.”

“If you have any concerns or believing someone is driving illegally, do the right thing and let us know so that we can take action against them.”

Anyone who witnessed the collision or captured anything on CCTV or dashcam is asked to call us on (0151) 777 5747, email: rpiu@merseyside.police.uk, or via @MerPolCC on Twitter, or ‘Merseyside Police Contact Centre’ on Facebook, with reference 21000404613.
