Man charged following incident in Chester

Appeal after boy has his bicycle stolen in Widnes robbery

A 27-year-old man has been charged following an incident in Chester.

Joshua Hughes was arrested at an address on Hoole Road at around 2.20am on Wednesday 4 November.

Later that same day Hughes, of no fixed address, was charged with kidnap and rape.

He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Chester Magistrates Court on Thursday 5 November.

The charge relates to an incident on The Groves near to the suspension bridge at around 8pm on Saturday 31 October.

A 34-year-old man arrested in connection with the incident was released with no further action on Tuesday 3 November.
