Officers appeal for information after two bikes seized in Birkenhead

Officers have seized a stolen motorcycle and quadbike in Birkenhead on Tuesday 13th December.

At around 9pm officers on mobile patrol on Farmfield Drive seized a stolen moped. As the officers were waiting for a recovery vehicle they were surrounded by three males on two quad bikes. The three males wearing balaclavas drove at the officers causing them to jump out of the way.  The males then ran away from the scene leaving the quad bike behind. This was also seized and suspected to be stolen.

No one was injured and both the moped and quad bike were successfully recovered by the officers in the area.

Inspector Peter Rexwinkel said: “Thanks to the swift actions and bravery of our officers two vehicles that could have caused serious harm and fear in our community have been seized by police.

“Tackling and preventing this reckless type of antisocial behaviour is one of our main priorities. If you saw the incident on Farmfield Drive or have any CCTV or dashcam footage of the suspects involved please contact police.

“Any information you have could be vital when preventing such crimes in your area.”
