The first live music festival to take place in the country for over a year will take centre stage in Liverpool’s Sefton Park on Sunday 2 May.
Running from 4pm to 10pm, 5,000 festival-goers will descend on the park as part of the national Events Research Programme.
To enable the event to take place safely, organisers have implemented some parking and traffic management restrictions. These will include:
- ‘No waiting’ cones will be positioned around the edge of park to protect junctions and in areas to allow traffic to move freely around the park. They will also be placed around road junctions to protect access.
- Greenbank Lane will be closed at Greenbank Road, access will be maintained for residents and businesses only.
- The section of the park between Croxteth Gate (Solna Hotel) and the roundabout at Aigburth Drive will be closed to general traffic and used as car parking for blue badge holders.
- Closures in and around Aigburth Drive/Lark Lane will be in place to assist and make safe pedestrian movement to and from the event.
- Diversion routes will be in place during these periods, residents/business access will be maintained.
Traffic restrictions will apply from 10am Sunday until approximately one hour after the event.
There will also be additional restrictions between Aigburth Drive and Croxteth Gate implemented from 10am until the end of the event.
