Four charged with drugs offences following raids across Greater Manchester, Merseyside

Detectives investigating the murder of a 17-year-old boy in South Manchester have charged a third person

Four men have been charged with drug offences following early morning raids yesterday (13 October 2021).

Yesterday morning (Wednesday 13 October 2021), officers from the Serious & Organised Crime Unit carried out ten search warrants at addresses across Greater Manchester, Merseyside, Durham, and North Wales.

A total of approximately 2kg of believed amphetamine has been recovered from three of the addresses along with ammunition and a large quantity of designer clothing valued in excess of £30,000.

  • James Mulligan (31/05/1993) of Hillside Close, Tameside has been charged with conspiracy to supply class A and Class B drugs.
  • David Keenan (11/11/1979) of Turner Street, Bacup has been charged with conspiracy to supply class A and class B drugs.
  • Damian Batty (07/12/1975) of Crawford Street, Tameside has been charged with conspiracy to supply class A and class B drugs.
  • Jake Ashton (04/11/1989) of Maytree Crescent, Audenshaw has been charged with possession with intent to supply class B drugs.

All four men have been remanded in custody and will appear before Manchester Crown Court on 18 November.

A 63-year-old woman and 50-year old man were released under investigation pending further enquiries.
