GRANT WILL HELP CELEBRATE HALTON

GRANT WILL HELP CELEBRATE HALTON

Halton Borough Council has been awarded £100,000 from Arts Council England to support its Borough of Culture 2021 project.

The award, part of the National Lottery Project Grants programme, will enable delivery of a number of exciting, high-profile events later this year including a music weekender, festival of light and community takeover of the Silver Jubilee Bridge.

Celebrate Halton will be an exciting year that aims to increase participation in high quality arts activity, helping more people benefit from the vital role culture can play in improving health and wellbeing, bringing people together, uniting communities, inspiring creativity and supporting learning.

Visit the website at www.celebratehalton.co.uk to see details of the stimulating programme of activities that will celebrate the borough’s past, present and future through everything from small community-led events to larger-scale spectaculars.

Events online already include outdoor theatre at Norton Priory Museums and Gardens, a borough-wide music festival and a multi-media project exploring the Mersey estuary’s landscape, with many more events to be announced soon.

Also look out for Culture HQ, a hub for all things Borough of Culture, opening in Runcorn Shopping City in April.

Borough of Culture is a combined authority project to support culture across the Liverpool City Region funded by the Metro Mayor’s Percent for Culture initiative.
