Three males charged in connection with stabbing in St Helens in July

Detectives investigating a stabbing in St Helens in July have charged three males in connection with the offence.

Around 4.20am on Saturday, 11 July, officers were called to Merton Bank Road following reports that a man in his 20s had been stabbed. He was taken to hospital for treatment of serious but non life-threatening injuries. Three men were arrested at the time and bailed.

20-year-old Wilson Cheetham of Oak Avenue, Newton-le-Willows was charged with Section 18 wounding.
29-year-old Michael Harrison of Heald Street, Newton-le-Willows was charged with Section 18 wounding; possession of an offensive weapon in a public place; assault occasioning ABH; and possession of cannabis.
A 17-year-old boy from Huyton was charged with Section 18 wounding and possession of a knife/sharply pointed article in a public place.

All three were remanded in custody to appear today (Friday 18 September) at St Helens Adult Remand Court.
