Inglefield Children’s Centre in Runcorn now has a defibrillator fitted and all staff trained to use the lifesaving equipment.
Inglefield is a vital community service providing short breaks to children and young people in Halton who have complex health needs and learning disabilities.
As part of Inglefield’s future business plan, incorporating health and wellbeing for those who use the service, Registered Manager Phil Woods and Assistant Manager Krysia Morrow applied to North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) for a defibrillator to be installed outside Inglefield in an accessible location to allow the wider community of Castlefields to access in times of an emergency. NWAS trained all Inglefield staff on how to use it.
Mark Collins, NWAS Community Resuscitation Engagement Officer, fully supported Inglefield in the process of applying for and having the defibrillator fitted.
Inglefield would like to thank Mark and all at NWAS for ensuring this provision is now in place.
During a recent independent ‘Regulation 44‘ inspection of Inglefield , the Inspector commented: “Inglefield is an excellent facility for the young people of Halton, and now having a defib in place could help save a child’s life as well as lives of the people in the local community. I applaud the foresight of the management at Inglefield.”
