Two men arrested and charged following burglary at Liverpool City Centre hotel

We have arrested and charged two men following a burglary at a Liverpool City Centre hotel in the early hours of yesterday, Tuesday 2 June.

At around 2.50am, officers were called to Hope Street Hotel, Hope Street to reports of two unauthorised men being seen inside the premises. Two men made off on police arrival, one of whom was chased and detained, and the other made good his escape.

A 43-year-old man from Liverpool City Centre was detained at the scene and arrested on suspicion of burglary and possession of a bladed article in a public place after a Stanley knife and multi-tool were found on his person.

Yesterday afternoon, following enquiries, a 42-year-old man from Liverpool City Centre was arrested on suspicion of burglary and taken to a police station for questioning.

43-year-old Darren Telford of Clarence Street, Liverpool City Centre has been charged with aggravated burglary and possession of a bladed article in a public place

42-year-old Nathan McCormick of Duke Street, Liverpool City Centre has been charged with burglary

Both men will appear at Liverpool Magistrates Court this morning, Wednesday 3 June.
