Winsford man charged with burglary offences

Two people charged in connection with Cheshire burglary series

A 43-year-old man from Winsford has been charged by officers investigating burglary offences committed in the town.

David McElligott was arrested at his home in Granville Square at around 10am on Sunday 7 June.

He has since been charged with two counts of burglary.

The charges relate to incidents at The Red Lion pub on Wharton Road and The Salvation Army church in Weaver Street.

The incidents occurred in the early hours of Saturday 6 June.

McElligott has been remanded in custody and is set to appear at Warrington Magistrates’ Court, via a video link, on Monday 8 June.
