WARNING ABOUT TVS SOLD FROM VANS

COVID-19: HALTON BOROUGH COUNCIL HOTLINE – VOLUNTEERING

Halton Trading Standards wants to make consumers aware that TVs are being sold from the back of vans at various places across the borough.

Unfortunately, a consumer has taken up the opportunity to buy a couple of these TVs for £220. However, upon arriving home the consumer has unboxed them to find out they were both smashed.

As Christmas time approaches there are likely to be more of these incidents regarding consumer goods such as toys, electronics and power tools.

There is a reasonable chance if you are buying goods out of the back of a van that the goods are either stolen, fake, unsafe or in this case broken.

If you or somebody you know has been caught out by a scam or fraud please contact one of our specialist officers, Linda or Sue on 0151 511 8785 or 0151 511 8775, who are already working with people in Halton who have lost thousands of pounds to scams.

If you need advice on anything else please contact the Citizens Advice Consumer Helpline  or 0808 223 1133.
